At 7.30 on Sunday evening over 4000 participants in 130 pubs, simultaneously kicked off with the first in a series of the World’s Biggest Quiz questions. The event, which was organised by Pubaid and supported by Just Giving, has so far raised almost £18,000 for local causes and charities.

Alan Thompson, from Ealing Foodbank, received the £400 raised at The Star & Anchor.

Ash Marsh, the Landlord, said:

"The team at the Star and Anchor are so grateful to Steve, and the local Labour Party, for supporting our World's Biggest Pub Quiz record attempt, and for his help in raising £400 for the Ealing Food Bank. We are really pleased to have been able to give back to the community and have fun at the same time."

Steve, MP for Ealing North, said:

"Ealing Food Bank fed nearly 4,000 people in our Borough last year. More than a million people receive similar support nationwide. We have to do everything we can to support the good work these organisations do, which is why I was very pleased to support Ash and The Star and Anchor in their charity pub quiz."
