Thousands of local families from across the borough enjoyed a free day of family fun on Wednesday 5 August celebrating National Playday at Rectory Park, Northolt.

Children and adults enjoyed getting up close and personal to some llamas, Shetland ponies, rabbits and goats at a petting farm; took turns on an old-fashioned carousel; whizzed down a giant Astro slide; and searched for treasure in a pirate ship surrounded by a sand pit.

They also had the chance to make smoothies, jump on bouncy castles and take part in a circus workshop.

The event was organised by Ealing Council’s play and housing and regeneration services and it celebrates children’s right to play.
