National Playday will be celebrated in Ealing on 5th August at Rectory Park, Northolt.

The free entertainment on offer includes a mobile farm, giant Astro slide, arts and crafts, an old-fashioned carousel and a pirate ship with sand play. The event runs from 12 – 4pm and is open to everyone.

National Playday happens every year and celebrates children’s right to play and highlights its importance in their lives. More than 2,500 people came along last year. There will also be smaller events happening at play centres and children’s centres across the borough. More details can be found at www.playday.org.uk.

Councillor Binda Rai, cabinet member for children and young people, said: “The summer holidays can be an expensive time so I’m delighted to be able to invite local people to this free event.

“Playday in Rectory Park is a wonderful occasion for families to come together and have fun. I hope that as many people as possible will take this opportunity to pack a picnic and enjoy the day with family and friends.”
