A pottery course led by Corinne Scurr is to be held at Open Ealing.

Using familiar objects and memories as your inspiration during this four week course, you can learn how to create a beautiful, stylish and useful object.

Starting Saturday 3 February at 10am Corinne shows you how to transfer your inspiration to paper, take it 3D and produce a "familiar object" that encapsulates your memories.

The course includes a visit to the acclaimed Contemporary Applied Arts Cafe (behind the Tate) and the Matthew Warner exhibition "Social Objects", illustrating how everyday objects can be an eternal source of inspiration and joy.

Corinne Scurr has been practicing ceramics for over ten years and since completing a degree in Contemporary Crafts in 2010, she has developed a practice of slab building and surface decoration using textured tools and coloured ceramic slips. Her work is mainly tile based with hand-drawn, surface designs and some freestanding multi-layered tile dioramas. You can see more of Corinne's work online at www.thekilnhouse.blogspot.co. uk.

Full details of the course are online plus information on how to reserve your place.
