Ealing's Olympic 'party in the park' is to be ticket entry only - prompting fears that thousands may miss out.

The free event in Walpole Park on 24th July will be the culmination of the torch relay through the borough.

An evening of family entertainment will be held to celebrate Ealing being one of only six London boroughs chosen to host the Olympic torch in an over-night stopover.

Details are still being finalised but numbers allowed into the section of the park where the party will be held will have to be restricted - for health and safety reasons.

Ealing Council say applications will be made via a form on the council's website.

Residents will have to log in and tickets will be allocated on a first-come, first served basis, with a maximum of 8 per application. It's not been revealed how many tickets will be available for the event.

The date this will happen has yet to be announced.
