Second year re-run for this historical event

The three-day family festival of fun from Friday, June 27 to Sunday, June 29, has already attracted bookings from a wide variety of businesses.

Foodies will enjoy the international line-up of mouth-watering delights including Malaysian specialities, Greek treats, Spanish tapas and ice cream.

There will also be a colourful collection of handmade crafts featuring jewellery, wooden gifts and fragrance lamps and oils.

In addition, organiser Market Square Group, is lining up a varied programme of activities and entertainment.

To add to the family-friendly party atmosphere there will be a summer bar, beer festival, picnic area, bouncy castle and slide and children's entertainment - including free circus skills workshops on the Saturday and Sunday.

There will be live music every day, including performances by rock band Heartaker on the Saturday, and comedy singing act The King Elvises will be delivering their own brand of alternative entertainment on Sunday.

New for this year is a fun 'land train' on which adults and children alike can enjoy a trip around the fayre.

This is the second time Market Square Group has organised the community event, which it revived in 2013 after an absence of 100 years.
