Part of Mattock Lane will be closed to motorists on Saturday 12th October for a street party.

It's being organised by Ealing Council from 11am-3pm but some of the road will be shut from 8-6pm.

The 'Season Up Your Street' event will include live music from Rock Choir and West London Barbershop Harmony Club, market stalls, food vendors, and a pop-up playground.

PM Gallery is running a group art activity which anyone can contribute to on the day. There will also be face painting and giant games to entertain the little ones.

People will be able to ride a giant bike through parts of central Ealing and Dr Bike’s mechanics will be on hand to give cyclists free bike health checks and make minor repairs.

To make way for the street party, people will not be able to drive along the stretch of Mattock Lane between High Street and the entrance to Pitzhanger Manor from 8am to 6pm and they will not be able to park in the bays alongside Ealing Green.

For the duration of the event, the part of Mattock Lane that is open to traffic will become a two-way street and people will be able to drive into Mattock Lane from Culmington Road.

Councillor Bassam Mahfouz, cabinet member for environment and transport, said: "Hosting a street party is a great way to bring people together and give them the chance to enjoy food, goods and entertainment from some of our many excellent local businesses and performers."
