An Ealing teenager has helped row Team GB to victory.

On Sunday 14 July Latymer J16 Quad represented GB against France and won by ¾ length, which contributed to Team GB winning the match overall on Bastille Day.

The four boys, Tom Yates, 16 who's from W5, Orlando Nixon, Ben Freeman and Oscar Holmes, were selected to represent their country after winning Gold at the National Schools Regatta earlier this year.

Head of Boats at Latymer, Phil McGee, commented:

“It turned out to be a tough race to the line: GB were ¾ of a length down after the French blasted out of the blocks off the start, then pushed away again before the boys aggressively fought to get back on terms and rowed through with an exhilarating final 500m to the finish (eventual margin ¾ length to GB). Bold rowing and a great end to their season.''
