Saturday night (17 July)t saw a creative show at Kingsdown Community Hall as we were transported through the glamour and delight of the works of Cole Porter.

An informative narration of his life was interspersed by sparkling renditions of his classic songs. From ‘Every time we say good bye’ sung in the most mesmerising delicious honeyed tones, to the classic ‘Begin the Beguine’ and a quick, witty and polished performance of ‘What a swell party’.

Harold and Linda Blackburn put the show together together with a highly creative team of musicians from Kingsdown.

It is part of the ongoing drive to raise funds for phase II of the renovation of the church and its facilities. Phase I has already been a Huge success and the front of Kingsdown church is arguably the most welcoming and modern in the area.

What a delight to be entertained by such creative people using their talents for the good of their community.
