Hanwell didn't know what hit it last night (Saturday 6th April) as musicians and music lovers descended to celebrate the Father of Loud - Jim Marshall who died a year ago aged 88.

Brian Poole from sixties' band, The Tremeloes, unveiled a memorial plaque on Hanwell High Street to mark where Jim sold his first guitar amp - an amp which became legendary.

Pubs were packed to capacity, but some people left disappointed, unable to get in to see the band they wanted.

There were suggestions that if the event becomes annual it could be held over a weekend allowing even more people to be able to see the amazing array of talent on display.

But it was one night only last night and for a few hours - the music - and Jim - lived on.
