The weather might not be quite there yet but Ealing Summer Festivals will be starting very soon with the Greenford Carnival.

The fun day on Saturday 28th June will give residents and visitors a chance to soak up the best in local entertainment with acts including Stolen Car and The Take Over performing live on stage alongside the Ealing Street Dance Academy.

With a ‘Get Active’ theme there will be lots at this year’s carnival to keep people of all ages amused. Activities in the health and sports zone will include Zumba sessions, a roller skating roller dome and the festival favourite tug-of-war.

Leader of the council, Councillor Julian Bell, said: “What a great start to the summer – come rain or shine I know the community in Greenford will make the most of the carnival and give visitors a taste of what this borough has to offer. It’s great to see so many local people and groups getting involved and making the carnival a great representation of community and culture.”

The families’ area, sponsored by Greenford’s Peapod Early Learning Centre, will have a mini zoo, circus workshop and steel band workshop to keep the kids entertained while the adults put their feet up in the parents’ chill zone. With face painting, drum making and pebble decorating the kids will not want to leave.

The women’s health charity CAME Women and Girls Development organisation, Women Who Mean Business Network and the Greenford, Northolt and Perivale Community Federation will be happy to speak to people who visit their information stalls.

Greenford Carnival will be held in Ravenor Park, Greenford, UB6 and run from midday to 7pm on Saturday, 28 June. Entry is £2 per adult and children aged 12 and under are free. A family ticket is £5, which covers entry for two adults and up to three children aged between 12 and 16 years.
