Ravenor Park will come alive this weekend as Greenford Carnival kick starts a lively calendar of events for this year’s Ealing Summer Festivals.

Running from 12-7pm on Saturday, 29 June, the day will be jammed-packed with entertainment and activities for people of all ages.

The youth zone will host a talent show and a mini-Olympics competition, as well as dance, MC, fashion and nail art workshops. There will be games of tug-of-war and zumba sessions in the sports area, and representatives from Queen’s Park Rangers football club will be on hand to run skills workshops.

Water zorbing, hat making, face painting, beading, stilt walking, plate spinning and much more will be on offer in the families’ area. Mum and dad can have a break in the parents’ chillout zone, with soft play, games and toys to entertain the under-fives.

Two stages of live local acts, including hip hop singer/songwriter, TakeOver, and Bollywood dance sensations, Madhurang Dance, will keep the crowds moving and atmosphere buzzing throughout the day. Market stalls, funfair rides and food from around the world will also be on offer.

The Mayor of Ealing, Councillor Kamaljit Dhindsa, will officially open the carnival at 1.15pm at the main stage.

Councillor Julian Bell, leader of Ealing Council, said: “Greenford Carnival has so much to offer and is a fantastic way for people to kick-start their summers. The carnival is a wonderful celebration of community and culture, set amongst the backdrop of one Ealing’s beautiful parks.”

Greenford Carnival will take place in Ravenor Park, Greenford, UB6. Entry is £2 per adult and children under 12 are free. A family ticket is £5, which covers entry for two adults and up to three children aged between 12 and 16 years.
