Ealing's budding Rory McIlroy's have been taking to the green and showing their skills.

Several 10 and 11 year-old Pros of the future recently lined up at Ealing Golf Club over a specially laid out 4 hole course.

The competition was set up to test their newly learnt skills at the end of their Junior Academy.

The gold medal winner, after a tense play-off, was Jack Clark (pictured right) with a score of level par, ahead of Scott Haplin in second place and Max Reynold in third.

Ealing Golf Club offers Juniors, as well as other beginners, a safe and enjoyable environment for their golf to flourish.

Ricky Willison, Ealing’s Director of Golf, and PGA Coaching Professional Luke Willett run the club’s successful Junior and Ladies Academies which provide a great introduction to the game of golf.

Amongst many strong Juniors, Ealing’s current standard-bearer is Pavan Sagoo. Since joining Ealing at age 8, Pavan has achieved great success, including captaining the England U16 squad and recently beating many aspiring Pros in a TP Tour Series event at Ealing and coming second in a similar event at Walton Heath.

He puts much of this down to the support the club has provided:

“Ealing is a great place for Juniors to learn and progress. We’re very much part of the club and I got the chance to test myself against the best adult members from an early age. Ricky has excellent connections at county and national levels and we’re all encouraged to maximise our potential. At all ages there are some really strong players coming through. I now get the chance to play all over the country but I always enjoy my golf here - the course is challenging, in great condition, and the greens are second to none.”

Ealing Golf Club runs regular Academies and holiday camps for both boys and girls, as well as its popular Ladies Academy.

The high standards they set were recently recognised by Ealing’s award of England Golf’s top ‘High Achiever’ GolfMark accreditation for junior and beginner friendly clubs.
