With the mile being one of the most famous distances of middle distance running, the team behind the Ealing Half Marathon have launched the Ealing Mile, with the first Ealing Mile Event taking place this Friday 7th June 2013.

Race Director Kelvin Walker commented: “We are very excited to bring you the Ealing Mile. As organisers of the Ealing Half Marathon and keen runners ourselves we want to promote running and all its benefits, but we also know that not everybody wants to sign up for a half marathon. The Ealing Mile is a friendly and fun lunchtime race open to everyone, utilising the distance markers in Lammas Park.

“The mile distance has increased in popularity over the last few years and seen a real come back, and we thought it was the perfect distance to commit to and to cover at lunchtime on the first Friday of each month. Every runner receives their finish time and the Ealing Mile is open to runners of all levels. It would be great if as many as possible could join us for the first ever Ealing Mile this Friday!

The Ealing Mile starts at 12.30 pm at the Culmington Road entrance to Lammas Park and takes in one loop of the park, on the first Friday of each month. The entry fee of £3 includes the registration fee and the minimum age for runners is 17. There are no changing facilities in the park and runners need to collect their race number on site from 12 o’clock onwards.

Please go to www.ealingmile.com for further details and to register, or email info@ealinghalfmarathon.com with any questions.

Registration for the Ealing Half Marathon on 29th September 2013 is also open and places are going fast, all the race details can be found on the website www.ealinghalfmarathon.com .
