Two gift store clerks loathe each other at work but have fallen in love as pen pals, in this romantic comedy from the team behind ‘Trouble in Paradise’, and hailed by critics as “close to perfection”.

(The Unfaithful Wife) 1969, 98 minutes directed by Claude Chabrol, starring Stéphane Audran, Michel Bouquet, Maurice Ronet

A family’s bourgeois bliss is disrupted when the husband suspects his spouse is having an affair. Touted as “a psycho-sexual study” and made by the master of French thrillers and domestic dramas.

A Place in the Sun 1951, 122 minutes directed by George Stevens, starring Montgomery Clift, Elizabeth Taylor, Shelley Winters

A man must choose between a poor factory girl and a beautiful socialite in this adaptation of ‘An American Tragedy’, made sublime by a glorious score and some of Hollywood’s most breathless close-ups. Winner of 6 Academy Awards.
