When money ran out for a community exercise scheme at the William Hobbayne Centre in Hanwell patients who had been benefitting were disappointed but not prepared to simply give up.

Rather than see the programme finish, patients now fund the sessions themselves with the support of Ealing Hospital's Cardiac Rehab Unit.

Now more participants are needed to ensure vital service continues.

Patients meet at the William Hobbayne Centre in Hanwell each Thursday at 5pm for 45 minutes of exercise tailored to people with heart conditions. The sessions are supervised by a qualified trainer.

Exercise for recovering cardiac patients is vital for their well being.

It's thought many Ealing GPs aren't aware about the service so patients may miss out.
