Brent Lodge Park Animal Centre - the bunny park - is offering the chance to pet pygmy goats and enjoy the reopening of the Butterfly House this Easter.

The animal centre in Hanwell, is run by Ealing Council’s Animal Centre team. The team is working in partnership with Clocktower Productions to put on an Easter Eggstravaganza with a special eggs-cursion as part of its spring celebrations, on Sunday, 5 April and Monday, 6 April.

Children can take part in an Easter egg trail with a map to help them find the eggs and, once the trail has been successfully completed, they will win a go on the lucky dip with lots of different prizes. These include some interactive experiences such as a tour of the freshly reopened Butterfly House and a chance to feed the new pygmy goats.

Centre visitors can also visit the porcupines, cranes, tortoises and rabbits, or enjoy the kids’ rides and an art and craft tent. Zoo keepers will be on-hand to answer questions about the animals.

Councillor Bassam Mahfouz, the council’s cabinet member for transport and environment, said: “This is the ideal springtime activity for families. Children can enjoy hunting for the eggs hidden around the centre, get close to the animals and have a great day out.

“We’re also looking forward to raising funds to complete a new, interactive monkey house for everyone to enjoy, and our younger guests always love the meerkats. This is a perfect family Easter treat.”

There are limited spaces and prizes for the Easter egg trail, and pre-booking a treasure map will guarantee a space. Tickets are now available from Clocktower Productions and for only £5, our residents will receive a map, lucky dip prize including exclusive experiences such as feeding the pygmy goats, and entrance to the butterfly house. Visitors can also enjoy kids’ rides and an art and craft tent.

The large papier mache eggs on the trial have been made by young people who volunteer at the animal centre and the MENCAP Art Group, which is based at Brent Lodge Park. The eggs were decorated by local primary schools and children's groups to reflect some of the many amazing animals housed at the animal centre.
