Ever popular Arthur Smith gets the holiday weekend off to a fine start with a headline spot at the No5 Club at the Drayton this Friday (April 18).

Smith is well known for his TV appearances on Grumpy Old men and on many comedy panel shows. He has also broadcast three series of Arthur Smith’s Balham Bash for Radio 4 and is currently the host of  ‘Arthur Smith's Comedy Club’ on Radio 4 Extra as well as presenter on Radio 4 programmes Excess Baggage and Loose Ends.

In 2010 Smith he banned all reviewers from his Edinburgh show unless they could juggle three kippers onstage and in 2005, he turned down a Lifetime Achievement award from the Perrier Award organizers. “They wanted to tell me I was old and cool, ” he said. “Well, I know that already, and my ego is bloated enough.”
