For 28 years Stan and Marie Eltham have been bringing Christmas joy to many from their home in Ecclestone Road in West Ealing.

Their brilliant display of lights has seen families flock from miles away to see them, and donations have raised money for various charities but sadly this year the lights are no more.

The Elthams are moving from Ealing to County Durham, Stan and Marie's daughter Helen broke the news on social media. She said:

'' It has been bought to my attention today that a lot of locals have been asking where the Christmas House has gone in Ealing, the Christmas house on Eccleston Road, why there are no lights??? etc. And as I write this I hear kids outside my window saying to their parents theres no more lights???

''There is no easy way for me to write/say this as I feel absolutely personally gutted and its quite upsetting for myself but my parents will not be displaying any lights this year or any more Christmas's to come. 2016 was the last ever display put up.

''They will be selling our family home in 2018 and moving out of London.

''My parents, family and I would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who has come to see our light display's provided over the last 27 years in West Ealing. I started placing lights outside the house at age 7 and the lights grew from there. Its been a absolute joy and pleasure seeing all the smiling faces and spreading the festive spirit amongst you all.

''To any who ask, please spread the news. Apologies to all the kiddies for disappointment caused but to those who still display lights for Christmas may it long continue and many more Christmas houses be born. Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year ahead for 2018.
