A workshop was damaged by fire in Hanwell in the early hours of Monday morning.

Four fire engines and a fire rescue unit were called to the reclamation unit on Trumpers Way.

The first floor of a two storey portable accommodation unit was completely destroyed by the fire. A small part of an adjoining single storey garage was also damaged in the blaze.

Watch Manager Peter Campbell was at the scene, he said: “Initially crews had difficulty getting access to the site but once they gained entry to the property they worked quickly and efficiently to put the fire out. Thankfully no injuries are reported.”

The Brigade was called 0125 and the incident was under control by 0426. Fire crews from Ealing, Southall, Heston and Acton fire stations were at the scene.

The cause of the fire is accidental due to water leaking into electrical equipment.
