Police are appealing for information in an attempt to trace a man - who may be in Southall - and could be a significant witness in an upcoming rape trial.

Officers are looking for Kala Singh, believed to be aged around 35. Mr Singh was residing at an address in The Crescent, Southall in 2005 and could have information about an alleged rape and sexual offences that took place in Delamere Road, Hayes and Botwell Common Road, Hayes

In 2005, Kala Singh was described as an Asian man with a light brown complexion who was approx 5ft 11inches tall. He was of average build with short, dark hair and had a goatee beard in 2007/2008, but was clean shaven in 2005. When Kala spoke to strangers, or had been drinking, he spoke with a stutter.

He is known to have had a younger brother who lived in the Manchester area.

He was last known to be in the Southall area in 2007/2008, although he may well still live in the area.

Officers have attempted to trace Mr Singh but this has so far proved fruitless.

Anyone who knows Kala Singh, or knows of his whereabouts, is asked to contact DC Katie Sherwood at Northwood Police Station on 0208 246 1901.
