A 26-year-old man has died after being stabbed inside a residential property in Halliday Square, Southall.

The police were called to reports of a disturbance at the address shortly before 3.30pm on Monday 19 February.

The man was found seriously injured and an air ambulance was called to the scene but, despite the efforts of paramedics, he was pronounced deat at 4.05pm.

Although he has not been formally identified, his next of kind have been informed.

A 39-year-old man was arrested at the scene and is in custody at a north London police station. Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with this investigation at this time.

Update: Mark Tyrone Thomas, 39, of Halliday Square, Southall, UB2 was charged on Tuesday, 20 February with the murder of a 26-year-old man.

He appeared at Ealing Magistrates Court on 21 February and will appear in custody at the Old Bailey on Friday, 23 February.

Formal identification awaits and a post-mortem examination will be held in due course.

 

Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are now leading the investigation.
