|Killer Foxes to Blame For Wallaby Deaths|
Finger of suspicion being pointed to Ealing's nocturnal predators
Police have closed their investigation into the deaths of three wallabies at Ealing's bunny park saying they now believe foxes were most likely to blame.
In October last year keepers at the Brent Lodge Animal Park were horrified to discover a wallaby called Bruce decapitated and it was a feared that someone had broken into the park and killed the animal.
Suspicions grew when two more wallabies were found dead in November - again it was suspected they had been attacked by a crazed killer.
Now, however, police say that after extensive enquiries, no criminal matters have been disclosed and no arrests have been made.
They say ''Our enquires have concluded that the deaths were most likely to have been caused by animal behaviour, for example attacks by foxes.''
A council spokesperson said: ''We are awaiting an update from the police on the outcome of their investigation.
''We will continue to ensure that the enclosures are secure to prevent any access to the animals by either people or foxes. We have also installed CCTV cameras around the animal centre which are monitored 24-hours a day.''
