The Hanwell Ukelele Group’s seventh anniversary falls on this Sunday 14 June.

They are unable to perform together in the same location for obvious reasons but still meet up on Tuesday evenings for virtual sessions and rehearsals.

To mark the date Steve Haskett has combined videos of two performances they did of the Amy Winehouse song Valerie into a single video. The first was in 2015 when they were recording for a CD at the Viaduct pub in Hanwell, and in 2018 they got together to celebrate their 5th anniversary performing on the bandstand in Elthorne Park.

Prior to lockdown they met every Tuesday evening from 7.30pm onwards at the Green Pub on the Lower Boston Road.

Everyone is welcome and the night is totally free however they do have a game of something or a raffle each week to cover admin costs. If you are a beginner you would be especially welcome but come early if you want a bit of help getting started.

For more details see the group’s web site.
