There was substantial disruption to train services this Tuesday morning (27 November) after a train derailed in West Ealing.

The Great Western Railway train was empty and nobody is reported to have been injured in the derailment.

Network Rail have engineers at the scene and say that disruption on train services into and out of Paddington and Heathrow services can be expected until 4pm.

National Rail said, "The operational incident at West Ealing has now been dealt with and service recovery is underway.

"However, whilst services recover, trains between Slough / Heathrow Airport and London Paddington may still be cancelled or delayed by up to 45 minutes.

"Disruption is expected until 16:00."

Earlier in the day a number of disused rail carriages were destroyed by fire in Southall. One derelict train carriage was destroyed by the fire and a further two were damaged. There were no reports of any injuries.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
