There were severe delays on the mainline train line to Paddington this morning (22nd January) after a person was hit by a train at Hanwell.

British Transport Police have issued a statement:

“BTP officers were called to Hanwell station, Ealing, on Wednesday, 22 January following a report that a person had been hit by a train.

“BTP and Metropolitan Police officers attended the incident, which was reported to BTP at 10.34am.

“Medics from London Ambulance Service also attended, but the person was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the identity of the person and inform their family.

“A file will be prepared for the Coroner.”

National rail say trains are now running normally.
