Officers from the MPS Counter Terrorism Command, SO15, have arrested a 36 year-old man, at an address in Greenford, on suspicion of encouragement of terrorism and suspicion of terrorist financing.

A second residential address in Ealing and a business address in Fulham are also to be searched.

The arrested man remains in custody at a police station in south London.

Six homes across the south of England were raided as part of an investigation in a group of suspected Islamist extremists.

Properties in High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire, Hounslow in Middlesex, Walthamstow in east London, Brentford as well as two in Greenford.

A number of cars were also searched.

Two men were arrested at a further two addresses on suspicion to commit grievous bodily harm.
