Enjoy a world-class performance at the University of West London (UWL) when renowned choir, Tenebrae perform a vocal celebration of Britain’s classic writers as part of the Ealing Music and Film Festival (EMFF) this month.

Award-winning choral group, Tenebrae will sing at UWL’s St Mary's Road site on Thursday 13 February in the first of three flagship concerts during the week-long arts and music festival.

The evening concert, A Century of the Glories of Partsong, will feature a performance of Parry’s evocative Songs of Farewell, and celebrate some of the country’s most celebrated poets including Shakespeare, Tennyson and Milton through exquisite miniatures about the natural world and complex masterpieces marrying text and song.

Based in Ealing, Tenebrae was founded in 2001 by its artistic director Nigel Short. It has gone on to become one of Britain’s leading chamber choirs, touring and performing all over the world including at the BBC Proms, in the Royal Albert Hall, and with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

Their upcoming performance is a highlight of this year’s Ealing community-run film festival which will celebrate the borough’s rich cultural and musical heritage through a week of musical concerts, workshops and film screenings being held at the University.

Professor Peter John, Vice Chancellor of UWL said: “We are proud to be celebrating everything about Ealing’s rich heritage of music, arts and film for another year, and are delighted to welcome Tenebrae as an inspiring example of the world-class performers right here in our community.”

The concert starts at 7.30pm on Thursday 13 February, with tickets available via the EMFF website.
