A series of events will be taking place to mark a major milestone in Pitshanger.

St Barnabas Church is 100 years. It was consecrated on June 3 1916 and there will  be a service of thanksgiving at 10.30am on Sunday June 12 at which the Bishop of London, the Rt Revd & Rt Hon Richard Chartres, will be the President and Preacher.

The High Mass will include music by Haydn, with choir and orchestra, as well as music from the original dedication service in 1916.

Following the celebration service, there will be a birthday party to mark the 100 years.

The Edwardian Fair & Picnic, will serve free sandwiches, strawberries & cream, Buck’s Fizz, Pimm’s and squash ( Bring your favourite picnic blanket or chair and any special drinks.

The afternoon will be filled with whimsical Edwardian entertainment, including stilt walkers, Punch & Judy shows, balloon blowers and magicians. The festivities will be concluded wit community singing, to celebrate the 100th birthday of St Barnabas as well as the 90th birthday of the Queen.
