Specialist cutting equipment was used to rescue an adventurous dog trapped in a hole in Ealing.

London Fire Brigade say a crew from Acton fire station attended the incident on Cleveland Road on Saturday but were unable to reach the one-year-old Jack Russell named Stanley. Another Fire Rescue Unit from Wembley were called to assist and using specialist cutting equipment were able to break away the concrete freeing Stanley.

A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said:

“It’s great that firefighters were able to rescue Stanley and reunite him with his owner. But I’d like to remind people that if you do see an animal trapped or stuck somewhere call the RSPCA first for advice rather than dialling 999.”

The Brigade was called to Cleveland Road at 1636 and the incident was over at 1804.
