Campaigners hoping to save Southall Town Hall have organised a demonstration to show the strength of local opposition.

Ealing Council agreed to lease out the grade 2 listed building which they say has been in constant need of repair and is no longer financially viable,

Built in 1897, the town hall on the junction of High Street and The Broadway was originally used as municipal offices for Southall Norwood District, which became a part of Ealing borough in 1965.

Members of the local community are angry that there was no public consultation regarding the disposal of the building and say it is key to preserving Southall's history.

They will be holding a protest this Friday ( 9th Feb) 2-4pm
