A well being roadshow will take place in Southall this Saturday (30 September) and the Samaritans are there to lend an ear.

The day will run from 10am to 5pm, where Samaritans volunteers will lend a listening ear from their ‘We Listen’ trailer.

Ann Mclaughlin, Director of Samaritans’ Ealing Branch says: “The Southall Road Show is a great opportunity to talk to Samaritans. Many people already do talk to us on a wide variety of subjects that they are unable to discuss with family members or personal friends. They talk to us about family concerns, relationships, work, health, bereavement and money matters. We listen and provide emotional support and are very grateful to Ealing Council and all those involved in helping to make this event a really special day.”

Councillor Hitesh Tailor, cabinet member for health and adults’ services, said: “We support the Samaritans’ We Listen campaign. There are times when we may all feel down, stressed, worried, lonely or at a low point. It is important to know that help and support is available in Ealing, including the Samaritans, your GP and other counselling, befriending and debt advice services. Feeling happy is important for our health and wellbeing and there is advice and guidance on ways that you can improve your wellbeing on the council’s website. We hope that many people will take the opportunity to stop by at this event on Saturday to find out more about the support on offer.”

Samaritans host a range of outreach events every year throughout the UK and Ireland to encourage people to seek help before reaching crisis and to raise awareness of the charity.
