Volunteers from Ealing Samaritans marked World Suicide Prevention Day at local railway stations to highlight how working together can help save lives.

Ann McLaughlin, director of Ealing Samaritans said: ' We''ll be showing our support for our partner Network Rail by having our volunteers meet travellers at Ealing Broadway station in the morning and Southall station in the afternoon.''

Samaritans volunteers provide services at the heart of their communities and this includes working with the NHS, the police, schools and other public, private and voluntary sector organisations in order to make suicide prevention more effective.

Ealing Samaritans volunteers are working to reduce suicide in their local area not only by joining up with Network Rail, TfL Rail, British Transport Police and other train operators but also through partnerships with NHS Ealing Clinical Commissioning Group, Ealing Council, the  West London Mental Health Trust and others.

All Samaritans branches are individual charities. Ealing Samaritans (registered charity no. 1173588) is only able to provide emotional support thanks to the donations and legacies and fundraising by our supporters.
