Well apparently there are only 38 days to the Ealing Half Marathon. I hope your training is going well and you're feeling confident...

Bet you're wondering how mine is going aren't you..(no? good!)

Long and short of it is...er it's not.

Apart from the fact that in the early part of the summer holidays it was just far too hot to run, and the second half too rainy (yes I warned you I always have 1001 excuses) ...just when I was slowly getting mentally 'in the zone' I managed to sprain my ankle.

It would be great if I could say it was on one of my regular 10 mile runs... but that would evidently be one massive lie.

I somewhat embarrasingly lost my footing on the path round the lake bit of Boston Manor Park. I WASN'T EVEN RUNNING!!!!!

So I've been left with a massive tender ankle and the distinct feeling that I may have to sit this year out... or perhaps go for the better option - volunteer.

The day depends on volunteers and because Ealing Half Marathon has grown in popularity more will be needed this year.

If you're interested and can help make Ealing the best half-marathon again sign up here

I'm still mulling it over... do I actually have enough time to recover and get some training in .. or shall I experience this wonderful day from a new perspective this time round?

Hmm....will let you know.
