Why drive when you can run to Windsor?

So we now have just a over a week or so to go until the London marathon, and I am getting bait nervous.

I managed 1 long run on Good Friday from ealing to Windsor for lunch with a friend of mine - 20 miles along the canal all the way to slough, then I got a bit lost in Windsor and had to be collected, wandering (well hobbling would be a better phrase) the streets of Windsor.

I then managed a 12 mile run on holiday in Spain, but was planning another 20 mile run, but around 8 miles in, I had a pain in my right knee, so called off the attempt at 12 miles.

Still looking forward to the main run though, and hoping that the crowd and my sponsorship money will get me through the pain that awaits me!

It is now just a case of tapering in preparation for the big day and trying to get through the expo (a huge marketing bash that you have to go to just register yourself for the run - and try to avoid using too much merchandise and running related paraphernalia).

Again, if you would like to sponsor me (running for children with cancer), then please visit http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/RichBaker

Many thanks. My motivational quote for this blog is : 'The miracle isn't that I finished. The miracle is that I had the courage to start', John Bingham.
