Pride and Prejudice is quite rightly one of those classics that still has something to offer everyone, and yet it's incredible when you realise that it was actually published over 200 years ago!

Jane Austen's famous romantic comedy of manners set in Regency England has been adapted many times for television and big screen and is now on stage at Ealing's finest theatre - Questors.

I say it every time I visit but Questors never fails to impress, and once again provides a great night out. Often overlooked in the plaudits for theatrical productions is the costume department, so I must make a point of congratulating the large team involved in this production. Each and everyone of the cast looked the part and took us away from cosmopolitan London to the countryside and the colourful Bennet family.

A great ensemble production, with many wonderful lines and quite a few laughs provided by Sarah Morrison as Mrs Bennet and Robert Gordon Clark as her long suffering husband who buries himself in a newspaper rather than involve himself in the never-ending marriage concerns of having five daughters.

Focusing primarily of Elizabeth Bennet ( Kitty Cockram) and the mysterious Mr Darcy ( Ben Martineau), Pride and Prejudice looks at the issue of first impressions, and we follow the development of both characters, who slowly learn to shed their pride and prejudice and eventually find true love.

It's not the easiest of novels to be adapted to stage, the medium of television and film have more geographical scope, but this lack of movement succeeds in helping reflect the insular domesticity of the Bennet family and friends and allows the audience to get a glimpse of how these lives were lived in such a society.

Well done to the very large production team, playing to an appreciative and almost full-house.
