Former Ealing Common Conservative Councillor, Rosamund (Roz) Reece, has been awarded an MBE For services to the Magistracy and the community in Ealing, in the Queen's birthday honours.

Originally from Newcastle, she moved from Chiswick to Ealing in 1976 with her family and worked as an orthoptist in the NHS before becoming a Special Educational Needs Tutor for 20 years in Ealing. She became a magistrate in 1984 and sits on Disability Tribunals.
Elected to council in 2010 she worked on the Health Scrutiny panel, investigating ways of improving patient care after hospital treatment, the shadow portfolio for Education when she visited some 50 schools in Ealing, the Licensing Committee, Regulatory, Local Neighbourhood Forum, he stood down as Councillor this year.
She has 4 children and 13 grandchildren.

Barbara Quartey

Barbara Quartey principal of Insights Independent School and Skills Academy in West Ealing, London has also been awarded an MBE for services to children with Special Needs.

The school in Alexandria Road has been operating since 2005, educating and supported children with a range of additional needs, enabling them to make the most of their experiences and future opportunities.

Chief Executive and principal Ms Quartey says:
