An application has been submitted to build more tower blocks at the Park View Place development on Greenford Road.

Ealing Council have already approved a scheme by the Interland Group to build 346 flats at the Kellogg Tower site. This building has been renamed Atrium Point and converted into 263 flats.

The new application would add 288 more units to bring the total number of housing units at the site to 824 including Atrium Point.

There are five new blocks proposed including one that is eleven storeys high on Greenford Road.

The application is being opposed by the North Greenford Residents’ Association (NGRA) which believes that this would represent an over-development of the site.

There are only 55 parking spaces provided for the 561 new flats which the association argues will cause even more congestion on Greenford Road and increase issues for resident parking in the vicinity.

In addition the whole site is Metropolitan Open Land (MOL) which the NGRA says should give the same protection as Green Belt. The National Planning Framework states that Green Belt should only be developed in very exceptional circumstances and the NGRA argues that does not apply here.

One of the blocks would be built on grass land and two of the others would require the removal of several mature trees including a group of Cracked Willow and 3 large Cedars of Lebanon. The tree survey concludes that out of 221 trees on the total site 166 would have to be chopped down.

To comment on this scheme go to the Ealing planning web site and put 213378FUL into the search box. The closing date for submissions is 23 June.
