Fears Over Towering Phone Mast in North Greenford |

65ft mast could become precedent for others throughout the bororough
Residents in North Greenford are being urged to object to plans for a towering mobile phone mast alongside what's been described as a 'plethora' of cabinets of up to 2m high.
The application was rejected by Ealing planning but the companies have now appealed to the Planning Inspectorate who can overturn the decision. Residents say it would be a total eyesore and point to the fact that Whitton Avenue East is in the Ealing Local Plan “Green Corridor” which aims to protect and enhance visual openness and say this development fails this test. They argue the mast and cabinets would look totally incongruous, cluttered and overbearing alongside the semi-detached houses and are shocked that a perfectly healthy Robina tree would have to be cut down to enable this development.
It's feared that if this gets the go-ahead it will be a precedent for other mobile companies upgrading mast sites across Ealing when planning for "5G'' Residents are being urged to make their objections known as soon as possible - last date is 2nd April.
