Organisers of the Osterley Park 10K have announced that the 2016 race has sold out in just over two weeks. The event is always a popular fixture on the West London running calendar, but places have been snapped up in record time for this year’s staging on Saturday 10th December

Much of the appeal of the race lies in its stunning location in the grounds of the beautiful National Trust Osterley Park and House. One of the largest open spaces in West London, Osterley Park provides a magnificent setting for the winter race, the fast and flat route taking in much of the picturesque scenery and including a loop of the private gardens.

The race distance is also highly popular, 10K representing a decent yet feasible challenge and a perfect stepping stone between a 5K and a half marathon. Many of those who enter the Osterley Park 10K go on to run the Ealing Half Marathon which is organised by the same company, Ealing Half Marathon CIC.

The Ealing Half Marathon is equally a fantastic alternative for those who do not get a place at Osterley Park this winter. The race is accepting entries for the 2017 race on 24th September and is offering a price freeze early bird fee, keeping prices the same as for 2016 until 31st December 2016. With places expected to sell out by the end of July, runners are encouraged to sign up soon to avoid disappointment.

Race Director Sandra Courtney said: ''We were overwhelmed with entries for the Osterley Park Winter 10K and are delighted that it has sold out so quickly. It’s fantastic to see so many people wanting to keep fit and support this brilliant event at a much-loved venue in the run-up to Christmas. Our thanks go to The National Trust for allowing us to host this popular run in the beautiful country estate of Osterley Park and House. We would urge anyone who didn’t get in to get their name down for the Ealing Half Marathon next September, which promises to be another day of outstanding sporting achievement and superb atmosphere.''

Participants at the Osterley Park Winter 10K will complete a two and a half lap course encompassing one lap of the formal gardens. The UKA measured race starts at 10.30am and takes place in partnership with The National Trust.

The official recommended charity for the race is Alice’s Youth Music Memorial Fund.

All places have sold out for the 2016 Osterley Park Winter 10K.
