A new co-working space for freelancers, social enterprises and small businesses will be opening in West Ealing in the autumn.

The Mayor of London’s Regeneration Fund has contributed £283,320 and £301,790 has been secured through match funding to refurbish the office space over two floors of St James House on St James Avenue.

Last year Ealing Council set up a co-working space in a former insurance shop in West Ealing to test the concept locally. More than 250 people used Ealing Blueprint over the six month trial.

Leader of Ealing Council, Councillor Julian Bell said: “This is a great opportunity which we are pleased to support so that we can help small businesses get off the ground and enable social enterprises to make a difference in the community.

“We know from our Ealing Blueprint trial last year that there is a demand for more co-working space in West Ealing. Entrepreneurs and small business owners who took part in the trial told us that co-working gives them the flexibility of renting desks when they need them and the chance to network and bounce ideas off other people.”
