A group of volunteers have raised over £800 in funds for a Hanwell Neighbours charity after climbing Mount Snowdon.

Volunteer and committee member Alan Baverstock along with his partner and four friends who support the charity did a similar climb last year of Skafell Pike for the charity which took around 9 hours and raised almost £600. This year the climb was completed in just 5 hours.

Hanwell Neighbourly Care Scheme (HNCS) offers support to older people in the W7 area. It gives help in an emergency and encourages contact between people to try and minimise isolation and loneliness.

It encourages the development of activities and arranges various 'Pop-Ins' to helping maintain independence and nurture friendship among active older people.

Full details of the Care Scheme and activities can be found on www.hanwellncs.org.uk
