They were invited to make some models of the shops along the High street and their artistic creations have been put on display at St Barnabas Church.

The art initiative idea had been proposed by John Martin, Chairman of Pitshanger Village Traders’ Association, as part of the GBHighSt campaign and which was enthusiastically adopted by Jane Stonebridge of North Ealing School.

Mr Martin said: ''My idea was an art competition for the schoolchildren to draw their favourite shop on the Lane as a way of engaging them in the GBHighSt Awards. The winning entries were 3D models of two of the businesses, Cats Protection and Chez l’Ami David. I was delighted when there was a suggestion to extend this idea to create the whole Lane once we had won the award of best high street in London. However, never did I expect to see such talent and enthusiasm for the project – the pupils should be very proud of themselves as we all are!”

Prior to the exhibition, photographs of all the models were taken and posters showing the model and the name of the pupil who made it created.

Whilst the exhibition was only for the day, the traders of Pitshanger Lane have been given the posters to display.
