Luxury car firm, Mercedes-Benz, is sponsoring the Ealing Half Marathon for the third year running as part of its community support programme.

A new Mercedes-Benz SLK will soon be spotted around town promoting the event which takes place on Sunday 27th September 2015.

The race has recently been voted "Best Half Marathon" at The 2015 Running Awards for the 2nd year in a row, and is nowa firm fixture in the autumn running calendar.

A team from Mercedes-Benz Brentford will be taking part and raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support, including General Manager Trevor Webb who has contested the event since the first Ealing Half Marathon in 2012.

He said: ''We’re always keen to support our local community and we are pleased to be associated with the Ealing Half Marathon for the third year. The race has become an important event in the running calendar. It is also a good opportunity to raise money for Macmillan, not to mention helping to keep our staff fit!”

Event Co-Ordinator Sandra Courtney said: “We are proud to welcome Mercedes-Benz Brentford back on board as a sponsor of the Ealing Half Marathon 2015. It’s great to get so much support from local businesses, runners and residents, and we are looking forward to raising further awareness of the race and to encouraging more runners to sign up.”

A total of 8,000 places are available for 2015, with entry costs of £34 for affiliated runners and £36 for unaffiliated runners. Runners can also sign up to run and raise money for the headline charity Alzheimer’s Society. All finishers receive a medal and online e-goody bag and they get entered into a draw to win a Mercedes bike.

The route remains unchanged for 2015, taking the runners around Central Ealing, Montpelier, Pitshanger, West Ealing, Hanwell and St Stephens before crossing the finish line in Lammas Park.
