Police and ambulance crews were called to South Ealing Road on Saturday (17th December) afternoon after reports that an elderly man had collapsed.

A statement from the MPS says '' Police were called by London Ambulance Service at 17:27hrs on 17 December to reports of a man collapsed in the street in South Ealing Road. Officers attended the scene.

''The man was pronounced dead by ambulance staff at 18:20hrs. The death is not believed to be suspicious.''

Police wouldn't release details of the identity but it's reported on social media that the man was a local character often seen around Northfields and South Ealing - noticeable because of his quirky bike which had a toy tigers head on the front.

Known as Malcolm or Malachy and thought to have originally come from Tipperary he wore shorts and would often play music from a radio in the basket. He was always a cheery presence in the area - greeting everybody he passed.

Locals have been saddened by the news of his death and paid many tributes - they say he will be sadly missed.
