Before the current stay at home irestrictions, youngsters in Hanwell were showing just what they're made of and helping clean up the area raising money for charity at the same time.

Mabel Duckworth along with friends and family recently took part in a 12 hour litter pick all around W7.

and ( unsurprisingly) ended up with lots of bags of waste.

They're members of LAGER Can ( Litter Action Group Ealing Residents) - a local environment group which regularly spruces up parts of the borough that the council don't

''Ealing Residents are invited to join the group IF they want to take some positive Action to address the behaviours and activities that cause littering and spoil the community's shared enjoyment of the Parkland.''

On her fundraising page Mabel said:

''I am picking up litter in Hanwell for 12 hours for WWF-UK because litter hurts animals and harms the environment. On Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd March I am going to pick up litter in different places in Hanwell, 6 hours on each day.

I am raising money for WWF because I love animals and it makes me feel sad and annoyed that when I see people drop litter they could be killing an animal without realising it.''

The youngster's work has been roundly applauded, Mabel's mum Jennifer is rightly proud and said: '' Feels great to be doing something useful in this uncertain time.''
