Plans have been announced for a new soft play centre for Dickens Yard.

KIDZ#1, described as ''a contemporary children’s soft play, activity and education centre'', is the latest new venue for the town centre location.

It will comprise of around 12,000 sq ft of play space including a multi-level soft play maze, a ball pool, toddler soft play and sporting facilities including a football pitch.

Designed to offer year-round entertainment for children aged 0 – 12 years’ old there will be a variety of indoor games including the latest technology 7D cinema, interactive tables to for both parents and kids and a virtual reality zone. There will also be themed party rooms available to hire along with a range of recreational activities such as animators and photographers.

A range of food and drink options will be available and an in-house pizzeria will serve freshly baked pizza, different snacks and other healthy food choices.

An expert team will be on hand to offer masterclasses including drawing lessons, sensory and cognitive development classes for babies and toddlers, music, dance, ballet, arts, crafts and science. KIDZ#1 will also host specialised classes to help children with educational needs.
