He may be a late contender but Ealing's 'Polish Prince' is to launch a challenge to the front runners in the London Mayoral election.

Property developer, Prince John Zylinsk, 64, will tomorrow (30.03) officially register to stand as candidate in next month's vote.

The colourful character made the headlines last year when he challenged Nigel Farage to a duel because he was fed up with the Ukip leader’s attacks on immigration. He made a short film about it and placed it on youtube.

He says: '' As a result of the success of the film challenging Farage to a duel, I was approached by a delegation of leading representatives from the Conservative Party. They suggested that I should run as a candidate for Mayor of London. For three days I was in a complete state of shock as this had never before entered my mind. However, after the initial shock I decided to run… but as an independent, a candidate for all Londoners who came to this City but do not feel welcome – In their own hometown.''

According to his supporters, EU citizens in London, especially their largest group the Poles, feel Prince Zylinski is their only hope. They say he has already won the hearts of the 250,000 in the Capital who claim he is a hero.

Zylinski was born in Lewisham but as a young boy promised his grandmother that one day he would re-build a palace, similar to the one she owned which had been burnt down after the war by the communists. He kept his word and the White House was built 50 years later on Park View Road in Ealing.

Now he says his primary aim is to 'change the image' of Poles in London by giving them a voice. He believes many will back him as independent Mayor.

Of his competitors, Zac Goldsmith and Sadiq Khan, he says:

''Both of them have consistently opposed new housing throughout their political careers. London needs an experienced property professional like me to break the log jam. Having built many homes in London, I say that Zac and Sadiq have zero credibility. Both are mere boys, green around the ears on the housing issue. It would be best if they were gently led away by men in white coats! Only I have the track record and a political will to build homes. I have been doing it all my life. And I have built the most famous private house in London, ‘The White House’ in Ealing.” The Polish Prince adds: “Quantity and quality …. and heart. That’s me!''
