Junction 2 Music Festival in Boston Manor Park has been granted a licence for a three day event for the next three years.

Since its inception the techno festival has been plagued with criticism of noise and disruptive behaviour outside the event although, as Cllr Mel Collins said at the panel meeting, " the 2018 event had been better run due to a greater level of engagement from the Applicant, meeting councillors and talking things through."

Cllr Collins (Brentford) and Cllr Driscoll (Northfield) were the only objectors in attendance. Cllr Lambert withdrew his representation as an extra condition had been agreed for greater information sharing with all stakeholders both before the event and a debrief afterwards.

There was discussion about how far sound could travel from the stages and changes that had been made in past years to minimise the distance.

The proposal is for the over 18 live music to happen on Friday and Saturday (12-10:30pm), with Sunday being a free all day family-friendly event from 11am-9.30pm. This will run for three years (2019-2021) around the second week of June.

There is a robust event safety management plan in place regarding stewarding, challenge 25, noise, refuse, toilets, access and egress and two noise hotlines. As last year, a letter will be sent to over 34,000 households in Hounslow and Ealing detailing the events and all points of contact.

Current promotion for the festival says it "uses Boston Manor Park to blend together natural beauty with striking industrial features", and that the "newly added Friday will showcase a more diverse spectrum of sounds". General admission is currently £42.50 for Friday and £55.00 for Saturday.
