We may not have a cinema yet but for one night Ealing was transported back to movie days at a red carpet launch for a new themed hotel.

Inspired by the iconic Ealing television and film studios, ibis Styles London on Uxbridge Road has 120 rooms which keep to the cinematic theme with furniture and décor fashioned by recycled film props and references to classic films.

Guests are welcomed with a backdrop of cinema screen lighting and walls adorned with artwork. Guests can expect mirrors bordered with faded movie reels, paparazzi shots and film posters. At ibis hotels nationwide, visitors are greeted by staff on smartphones and tablets that are linked to the ibis online check-in and check-out service.

The hotel was formally opened by Ealing Central and Acton MP, Rupa Huq, who attended with her family to celebrate the opening.

Up to 100 attendees sipped on a movie-themed cocktail menu curated especially for the event, posed for the camera in front of the studio lights, and immersed themselves in the magic of cinema for the evening. The event paid tribute to some of Hollywood’s greatest movies, whilst the venue was transformed into a film set, complete with studio lighting, clapperboards, and a red-carpet style entrance.

Dominc Sauls, General Manager ibis Styles said, We are delighted to welcome guests to the hotel. We hope they will feel relaxed and revitalised immersing themselves in the sights and sounds of the movies.'
